AOC Asks Greg Abbott To Retire

( Progressive Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is getting involved in Texas politics.

Recently, she said that Greg Abbott, the Republican governor of Texas, should consider retiring after the actions he has taken in regard to migrants who have entered his state.

Last week, Abbott said that he sent two different buses full of migrants from his state of Texas to the residence of Vice President Kamala Harris in Washington, D.C. — the Naval Observatory where all vice presidents live with their families.

In making the announcement in a tweet, Abbott wrote:

“The Biden-Harris Administration continues ignoring and denying the historic crisis at our southern border, which has endangered and overwhelmed Texas communities for almost two years. Our supposed Border Czar, Vice President Kamala Harris, has yet to even visit the border to see firsthand the impact of the open border policies she has helped implement, even going so far as to claim the border is ‘secure.’

“Texas will continue sending migrants to sanctuary cities like Washington, D.C. until President Biden and Border Czar Harris step up and do their jobs to secure the border.”

AOC, the head of the so-called “Squad” in the House, responded directly to the tweet the Abbott sent. She tried to remind the Republican governor that there were many people who stepped in and helped the people of Texas when he “left them cold and hungry during the freeze.” She was referring to the situation that occurred when many people in Texas were left completely without power due to an unforeseen winter weather event there.

She added that:

“We will welcome these families too. They have so much to offer. You do seem to be struggling at your job, though. Maybe you should consider if this is the right work for you.”

It was a direct attack on Abbott from an ultra-progressive liberal who has no qualms with speaking her mind about any subject under the sun — whether she has any knowledge about it or not.

Abbott has been gaining a lot of publicity over his actions to bus migrants who arrive in Texas to other liberal areas of the country. He started sending them to Washington, D.C., at first back in April.

Since then, he has expanded the effort to include sending loads of migrants off to other liberal cities such as Chicago and New York.

Abbott’s actions also influenced other Republican governors to take similar steps. Recently, Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida, sent two planes full of migrants up to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts — an extremely wealthy and liberal part of the country.

Many people have complained that they had to scramble to try to help these people who they weren’t expecting to show up on their doorstep. This made them hurry to try to find temporary housing, food and even clothing to support these migrants.

But, the arguments that Abbott and DeSantis make in response is that they’ve had to do the same thing over and over again on a much larger scale in their home states — all because the Biden administration has done nothing to solve the border crisis.
