(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- On Friday, as he was trying to defend his decision to cave to far-left Democrats on the issue of refugee admissions, President Joe Biden accidentally admitted that there’s a crisis on the border.
That’s what happens when he doesn’t have a teleprompter.
That day, President Biden signed an executive order initially agreeing to maintain the cap of 15,000 refugees per year – something that was signed by former President Donald Trump. But very quickly, the new president caved to extremists in his party, telling White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki to inform the press that he was planning on increasing the number.
Psaki said that the White House was planning to unveil a new number – higher than 15,000 – on May 15.
“For the past few weeks, [President Biden] has been consulting with his advisors to determine what number of refugees could realistically be admitted to the United States between now and Oct. 1. Given the decimated refugee admissions program we inherited, and burdens on the Office of Refugee Resettlement, his initial goal of 62,500 seems unlikely,” Psaki said.
So, when President Biden was asked about the flip flop, during a golf game, he slipped up and admitted the crisis.
“We’re going to increase the number,” Biden said. “The problem was that the refugee part was working on the crisis that ended up on the border with young people.”
A crisis, you say?
“We couldn’t do two things at once,” he added. “But now we are going to increase the number.”
Did anybody honestly think that Biden would follow through on an executive order that would maintain a Trump-era rule?
Biden, who may not have realized the slip up he made until after the interview ended, appeared to be suggesting that the difficulty handling the massive influx of illegal alien children at the border has put too much burden on the immigration authorities, meaning they wouldn’t be able to also handle an increased number of illegal aliens.
Which would make sense.
The Biden administration broke a 15-year record of 172,000 illegal aliens apprehended by border officials on the southern border in March alone, rising from roughly 100,000 in February. And the situation just keeps getting worse.
Now that President Biden has admitted that it’s a problem…will he do anything about it?
