China Trying To Create 100s Of More Biolabs Like Wuhan, China

( The Chinese Communist Party’s Ministry of Science and Technology recently announced the construction of three new biosafety level-4 labs and a further 88 biosafety level-3 labs, in news bound to terrify Western nations.

The Global Times, a state-run propaganda news network in China, announced that “China inaugurated the Biosecurity Law on Thursday, which is expected to further fortify the legal shield for the establishment and safe operation of more bio labs as China attaches greater importance to biosecurity as part of national security.”

It comes as the world still wonders where exactly the COVID-19 originated, and what role the Wuhan Institute of Virology laboratory played in the outbreak. While the World Health Organization claims to have thoroughly investigated the origins of the virus, the Chinese Communist Party refused to allow independent foreign experts into the country to examine the circumstances surrounding the virus outbreak.

The Global Times quoted the Deputy Director of Pathogen Biology at Wuhan University who said the announcement was “timely” and would “provide a legal shield for scientific projects on biosafety, including infectious diseases.”

It’s a slap in the face to the rest of the world, with China still refusing to answer key questions about the Wuhan laboratory’s safety procedures, and why the Chinese authorities blocked off all rounds surrounding the facility in the wake of the outbreak.

China’s Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Xiang Labin, revealed that three level-4 labs, and 88 level-3 labs (known as P4 labs and P3 labs respectively” were approved. Compared to April 2020, only two P4 labs were in operation and 81 P3 labs – making this a gigantic increase over what the nation had before.

“With the new law, China aims to enhance the country’s bioscience research level and tackle the prevention and control of potential outbreaks of infectious diseases for animals and plants,” the ministry claimed.

China plans to continue building laboratories under a new Biosecurity Law and will continue to build them in the coming years as its plan to replace the United States as the world superpower expands.

The United States currently has 1,500 P3 labs and 12 P4 labs.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization’s investigations cannot rule out the possibility that the virus came from a Chinese laboratory with lax safety procedures.

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, said on March 30 that the organization believes that all hypotheses of how the outbreak began are “on the table.”
