Church Gives Standing Ovation For Pastor Who Made A Chilling “Confession”

( A 65-year-old pastor in Indiana told his church that he had been unfaithful in the past. He asked for forgiveness and then got a standing ovation.

The woman with whom he had an affair, Bobi Gephart, then got up on stage and said that they had slept together when he was 38, and she was 16.

She said she had been locked up by lies and shame.

Pastor John Lowe told the congregation in the New Life Christian Church that he cheated on his wife, and it’s been almost 20 years. He said It went on for much too long. It was just one person, and there hasn’t been anyone else like that or a situation like that since.

“I won’t use the Bible to defend, cover up, or hide my past wrongdoing. I have no defense. I was the one who cheated,” he said.

He said he didn’t make a mistake; he sinned. He said he needed to say that, and people should listen. He said he had no good answer for why he never came forward sooner.

Lowe said he could have said he didn’t say anything to protect the woman, but he admitted, “I was also trying to protect myself.”

When Lowe was done, he asked for forgiveness and said he was leaving his position. The congregation stood up and gave him a standing ovation.

Then, Bobi Gephart, who is now 43, and her husband Nate walked up to the stage.
Nate said into the mic, “If you love us, let us talk.”

Bobi said she lived in a prison for 27 years. She thought she was a bad person because she had suicidal thoughts and didn’t know what had happened to her. She thought she was a victim, and she would still be in psychological prison if her brother hadn’t told her about something he saw when he was a teenager that had bothered him all these years. He saw his pastor in bed with his younger sister.

“I had on a T-shirt and my underwear,” she recalled.

“People knew, but they were afraid to say anything. And now they have. The lies and trickery have to stop.”

She told Lowe that she was a prisoner, and he kept her in his prison.

“When you took my virginity on your office floor, I was only 16 years old. Do you still remember? I know you do, and I could tell you many more stories to help you remember.”

She said he did things to her body when she was a teenager that had never been done and never should have been done. She said he had to answer to God if he couldn’t admit the truth.

She told him, “You are not the victim here.”

Nate said that this is more than just cheating. It’s not the same. It went on for nine years when she was 15 and 16. She was groomed.

In a statement, the church said:

When confronted by others in church leadership concerning that report, Pastor Lowe confessed privately that the adultery did, in fact, occur. The woman in question and her family did attend together and addressed the congregation, indicating that improper sexual conduct first occurred when she was 16 years of age and continued into her twenties. She tearfully described living with deep shame and pain over the ensuing years.

As of Monday, May 23, 2022, Pastor John B. Lowe II tendered His resignation with New Life Christian Church and World Outreach.
