Dem Congressman Wants to Give Stimulus Checks to ILLEGAL ALIENS

(TheLibertyRevolution.Com)- Democratic Representative Adriano Espaillat of New York may have out-AOCed AOC! During a Univision interview, the New York congressman called on the White House to give free money to illegal immigrants as part of the fight to protect Americans against the economic damage wreaked by the Chinese coronavirus.

Espaillat claimed that illegal aliens deserve to be handed stimulus checks, just as American citizens do.

“Republicans have refused to include people without social security numbers in the relief measures,” he said. “millions of undocumented who work hard, and they’re outside on the streets now exposing themselves to getting sick, should also receive this kind of protection.”

There is a trend within the Democratic Party for members of Congress to endorse increasingly radical policies to pander to their most far-left and vocal supporters. Only on March 23, Espaillat’s office released a press statement urging the government to hand out stimulus checks to everybody who filed a tax return. Their statement specifically called on the president and his administration to assist those who file their annual returns without a social security number, but with an individual taxpayer identification number instead. That still would have meant most illegal immigrants would be left without government support.

How is it that we’re living in a time when it is somehow controversial to say illegal immigrants shouldn’t be given free money?

“We must put meaningful resources into the pockets of those hardest hit by the coronavirus,” the release explained. “However, the current economic stimulus proposal is limited to one-time cash payments that exclude immigrant taxpayers who do not have a social security number, which will have an immediate impact on their citizen children and spouses.”

Under his previous plan, only non-resident aliens studying at university or claiming a tax treaty benefit would qualify. Residents who are dependents on citizens, or required to pay US tax returns, would also benefit under his proposed plan. That might include people who do not live in the United States at all and would exclude illegal aliens living in the United States.

The fact that Espaillat changed his position so quickly indicates he realized that, if the government had listened to his advice, people all over the world who file tax returns in the US, however small, may have received money from the U.S. government.
