(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- Former President Donald Trump wants to reinstate free speech, and his plan to do that starts with a class action lawsuit again Big Tech and social media.
Trump’s plan to sue Big Tech for censoring people on behalf of the government might sound like a longshot, but even The Wall Street Journal thinks that Trump has a shot at winning this thing. In a piece last week, The Journal wrote that “Trump Can Win His Case Against Tech Giants” and said that there is precedent for calling censorship on social media “state action.”
Matt Schlapp, the chair of the American Conservative Union, praised Trump’s afford as defending Americans’ “freedom to speak,” and former President Donald Trump has said that the lawsuit can help restore freedom of speech in this country.

Trump announced the lawsuit on Wednesday, July 7, and revealed in his speech that the suit will ask the courts to take action against Big Tech companies who have silenced political candidates, activists, and journalists on behalf of the government.
The suit says that the censorship is technically state action as the platforms were granted protection under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, meaning the platforms cannot be sued for content published via third parties.
The Wall Street Journal explained how in Norwood v. Harrison (1973), the Supreme Court held that the government cannot “induce, encourage, or promote private persons to accomplish what it is constitutionally forbidden to accomplish.”
It means that private people or organizations cannot be encouraged by the state, in any way, to take action that violates the United States Constitution.
So while left-wing activists snigger, it looks like former President Trump’s lawsuit has legal standing…and if it gets to the Supreme Court, it could finally bring down Big Tech.
That is, of course, assuming that President Biden doesn’t pack the court before hand…
