(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- On Wednesday a United States Capitol Police officer was airlifted to the hospital after being hit by a van near the Capitol building. The tragedy was announced on the official U.S. Capitol Police Twitter account.
The announcement said that officers were working a traffic crash that involved a motorcycle officer and which occurred at Washington Avenue and C Street just before 3pm.

The officer was airlifted to the hospital.

While the Democrats would no doubt love to use the tragedy to their political advantage by blaming it on a Republican, it looks as though the crash was actually an accident. The Capitol Police confirmed that the driver of the white van that hit the officer stayed on the scene and was arrested for driving without a valid license.
“At this time, this does not appear to be tied to terrorism and there is no threat to Congress or the Capitol Complex,” a further tweet added.
Did Nancy Pelosi hear that? Someone should probably tell her before she erects another mile of fence around the Capitol building.
Thankfully, the Capitol Police issued a later statement describing how their office is in a stable condition and has non-life threatening injuries.

An officer familiar with the incident told reporters that the motorcycle officer was hit “head-on” by the van, but that the injured officer was conscious and breathing before being airlifted to the hospital.
