(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- On Monday, the Heritage Foundation sued the FBI seven times for failing to comply with the foundation’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for documents.
In a news statement, the conservative think group Heritage Foundation claimed that its Oversight Project would be pursuing lawsuits to collect documents related to allegations of biased FBI activity against members of the right.
In 2022, the organization began its oversight mission investigating the Biden administration.
The group filed Freedom of Information Act requests regarding the FBI’s alleged surveillance of social media users, the bureau’s lack of resources during the Black Lives Matter riots in the summer of 2020, the bureau’s work on the cases stemming from the January 6th Capitol riots, criminal standards for the Trump and Biden classified document cases and other bureau activities.
Biden’s Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation have made it quite obvious they are ready to apply the law selectively. Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts has called for an end to the “double standard,” explicitly targeting conservatives.
Roberts said that everyday Americans and those that Joe Biden, Merrick Garland, and their minions paint as “domestic terrorists” have a right to know why and how the FBI is targeting them.
In September, Heritage’s Oversight Project sued the Justice Department and the National Archives under the Freedom of Information Act, seeking papers related to the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago and its handling of the investigation into sensitive information involving President Biden.
Bureaucratic stonewalling can be infuriating. Regardless of party or position, most government officials are motivated by a desire to seem to be doing a good job and hence avoid the responsibility inherent in genuine government openness.
Other times they are simply corrupt.
