(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- In a surprising turn of events, the most-watched show in all of cable television on Monday, September 20 was not a primetime program.
Fox News Channel’s 5:00 pm show The Five topped the ratings charts on Monday – beating out every broadcast hour on CNN and MSNBC, and topping Fox’s primetime line-up.
Monday’s broadcast of The Five drew a staggering 3.55 million viewers. Tucker Carlson’s Monday show placed second with 3.14 million, while Bret Baier’s Special Report took third with 2.58 million.
In the coveted 25-54 demo, Tucker beat out The Five for first place with 535,000 viewers.
The Five obliterated its direct competition in the 5:00 pm slot. Compared to The Five’s 3.55 million viewers, CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper came in a far distant second place with a measly 744,000 viewers.
In fact, Fox News beat out their competitors in every single hour from 6:00 am until 11:00 pm. This holds true for the advertiser coveted 25-54 demographic as well.
These blow-out ratings follow on the heels of the news that Fox’s late night show Gutfeld! which premiered in April, is now the late night ratings giant, beating out every late night show including the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Gutfeld! bested his competition, not just in overall viewers, but in the coveted 25-54 demo.
Late night “comedy” shows are suffering the same problem CNN and MSNBC are facing. With Trump out of the White House, they’ve lost their reason to exist. After four years of making everything about Donald Trump, there simply isn’t anything left to keep viewers tuning in.
But rather than address the problem and change course, late night, like CNN and MSNBC, insist on clinging to Trump Derangement in hopes that their Resistance audiences are as desperate for a fix as they are.
It certainly doesn’t help that Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Myers, and Stephen Colbert have abandoned comedy in favor of Democrat activism. What’s the point of watching late night comedy shows that lack the “comedy” part?
Bottom line, Gutfeld! is funny. Those guys are not.
One other reason traditional late night shows can’t keep up with Gutfeld! is because Gutfeld! happily pokes fun of Joe Biden. Biden is a veritable treasure trove of comic material, but the other guys won’t touch him.
So long as Trump Derangement and Democrat Activism rule the roost at their competitors, Fox News will continue to trample them in the ratings.
