House GOP Intel Reveals U.S. Was Working Closely With China On Possibly “Dangerous” Research

( Once again, our instincts were right.

In what should come as little surprise to those who’ve been paying attention, Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee just released a statement not only potentially connecting the creation of the COVID-19 virus to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, but also show how the U.S. government and taxpayer dollars could have supported those studies.

In a bombshell report, House Republicans led by ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes described the “overwhelming circumstantial evidence” for the virus originating in the Wuhan lab.

Apparently, efforts by both the Trump and Biden administrations to conduct a full investigation into the origin of the COVID-19 virus have been rebuffed by the Chinese government. Officials from both administrations also question the results of a report published jointly by China and the World Health Organization last year.

That study asserted the most likely scenario for the virus’s origin was through an “intermediate animal host,” essentially supporting the theory that humans first contracted the illness from bats. At the same time, the study downplayed the possibility of the virus introduced to humans “through a laboratory incident,” which it called “extremely unlikely.”

The House Republicans’ report determined that the Wuhan lab was actually collaborating with the Chinese military in gain-of-function research.

The report underscored that no “substantive evidence” currently exists supporting the animal transmission theory, however there is significant circumstantial evidence reinforcing the possibility of a lab leak.

The report also cites a fact sheet released by the U.S. Department of State in January noting that the Wuhan Institute of Virology “has a published record of conducting ‘gain-of-function’ research to engineer chimeric viruses,” and “has engaged in classified research, including laboratory animal experiments, on behalf of the Chinese military.”

In addition, the House Republicans’ report points to China’s documented history of laboratory leaks, warnings from our own diplomats saying that China was engaging in dangerous research without proper precautions, prior gain-of-function studies in China that made viruses more contagious, the association with the Chinese military, and an apparent cover-up by the CCP.

Not only that, the report states that there were “clear signs” the government and government funded organizations played a role in the dangerous virus research being conducted at the Wuhan lab.

While Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of NIAID, has repeatedly denied any involvement in the gain-of-function research conducted at the Wuhan facility, these recent revelations may finally eliminate Fauci’s plausible deniability.
