Ivanka Trump Campaigns For Georgia Republicans In Runoff Election

(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- Republicans are pushing hard to get the vote out for Georgia’s two Senate runoff races, and Ivanka Trump was on hand this week to emphasize that message.

The focus of the rally held on Monday was ensuring that the Senate “firewall” is kept in place. That term is one that has been coined by incumbent Senator Kelly Loeffler, referencing the check Republicans can have on the incoming Joe Biden administration and the Democrat-led House of Representatives.

The two Georgia runoff elections, involving Republicans Loeffler and David Perdue, will ultimately decide which political party has control over the U.S. Senate. For the Democrats to have control, both candidates Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff would have to win these elections. That would force a 50-50 tie, with Democrats having the last say since the vice president gets the tie-breaking vote.

The Republicans need to win just one of the Georgia runoff races to maintain control of the Senate.

At the rally, Loeffler said to the audience:

“Are you ready to show America Georgia is a red state? Say it with me: Hold the line. Hold the line.”

That remark sparked the hundreds of attendees to break out chanting.

As for Ivanka, this event was originally supposed to be the first stop on a two-event trip for her. Her plans to crisscross the state to get the word out changed last minute, though, as both Perdue and Loeffler had to return to Washington, D.C., to vote on the coronavirus economic stimulus package.

In her opening remarks, Ivanka Trump said:

“I talked to my father on the way here. He asked me to tell you he loves Georgia and will never stop fighting for you.”

Fred Hicks, a Georgia political strategist, later said that having Ivanka come to Georgia for the rally is a pertinent move for Republicans. He commented:

“Bringing in Ivanka is an effort to bring the hardcore Trump voters back as well as getting the Never Trump Republicans out to vote. This is as close as an acknowledgement that Trump’s loss was because of his personality as we are likely to see.”

Loeffler and Perdue both focused on conjuring up negative images when speaking to the crowd. They mentioned the names of Democratic politicians such as Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Chuck Schumer, as well as Stacey Abrams, a political organizer. Each time those names were mentioned, the crowd booed loudly.

Then, Loeffler explained the importance of going to the polls:

“If we don’t vote, we won’t just lose. We’ll lose the country.”

Republicans are pushing hard to attract voters who voted for Biden for president, but didn’t vote for Ossoff in the Senate election. There were more than 100,000 of them, showing the political divide between people’s support for President Trump and their support for the Republcian Party.

Ivanka concluded her speech by saying:

“With your voice and your vote, Georgia will save America. Georgia will be the first in a wave of resounding Republican victories.”
