(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- Vice President Kamala Harris has recruited Erin Wilson as her new deputy chief of staff. Wilson will formally join the team on May 31.
Wilson’s appointment comes on the heels of many other high-profile additions within the Vice President’s office as Harris prepares for this fall’s midterm elections. Wilson has links to the White House, having served as the national political director for Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.
She has experience working on both national and statewide campaigns, and she has worked as a worker for both the United States Senate and the Democratic National Committee.
She joins Harris’ office after most recently working as deputy director of the White House’s political strategy and outreach office, which she joined in 2011.
Wilson takes over for Michael Fuchs, who announced in April that he would be leaving the company this month.
Fuchs was a former foreign policy advisor to President Clinton who went on to hold prominent positions at the State Department under the administration of President Barack Obama.
Wilson sent a message to her colleagues, which said that she had had the luxury of working alongside many great folks over the last three years. They spanned the primary campaign, the general election, and the beginning of an administration.
For Democrats to retain control of the House and Senate, Harris is likely to play an essential role in convincing voters that they are deserving of a majority.
These latest hires, who have campaign and congressional experience, are tasked with an uphill battle.
Aside from Lorraine Voles, who has been promoted to chief of staff, other notable additions over the past months are Jamal Simmons, who has been appointed to the position of communications director, and Kirsten Allen, who has been appointed as press secretary.
Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, White House deputy chief of staff, said that Erin Wilson had been a vital leader of the president’s political team since the launch of his campaign in 2019. Her work to build a historic coalition of supporters helped make the first 15 months of this administration successful.
By what metric has the Biden administration been successful? Or Kamala Harris, for that matter?
