(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- After launching a presidential election campaign and failing to file paperwork in time to appear on the ballot in several states including South Carolina, rapper Kanye West has experienced a very public meltdown on his social media platforms.
Kim Kardashian, West’s wife, has spoken up in response to the events that unfolded over the last few days and asked people to show compassion to her husband. It follows a series of now-deleted Twitter posts from West in which he accuses his wife of trying to get him locked up.
Kardashian wrote a long post on Instagram asking for people to understand that West suffers from bipolar disorder and that while he’s a brilliant man, he’s also complicated.
“As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder,” Kardashian said. “Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.”
Kardashian explained how she has refrained from speaking publicly about West’s disorder, out of respects for his privacy and for the wellbeing of her children. However, she explained how she believes it is important to break her silence and speak out about the issue. Kardashian hopes her words will help break the stigma of mental health problems.
“But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health,” she explained. “Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgemental and to understanding that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.”
Kardashian asked people to be compassionate about her husband, describing the main difficulties he has faced in his life that make living with Bi-polar even harder.
“Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions,” she added.
West claimed earlier this week that his wife was flying to Wyoming with a doctor to try and lock him up “Like on the movie Get Out because I cried about saving my daughter’s life” he said, in reference to a speech he made about abortion in South Carolina.
West might well be on some ballots in November but will face no real chance of being elected President of the United States. Let’s hope West and his family can find the compassion and understanding they need in this difficult time.
