(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- Jerry Falwell Jr. has resigned as the president and chancellor of Christian, conservative Liberty University on Monday. It came on the same day that Reuters published an investigative piece that suggested he and his wife had been involved in a sexual affair with a young man for seven years.
The young man in the story is a former pool boy who became a business associate of the Falwells, operating an LGBT-friendly hostel together.
It comes only a few weeks after Falwell was asked to take an “indefinite leave of absence” by the university’s Board of Trustees after he published a photograph on Instagram with his pants unzipped, his underwear on show, and his stomach revealed too.

29-year-old Giancarlo Granda told Reuters that his sexual relationship with the Falwells started when he was 20 years old. He met the couple when working as a pool boy in 2012 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel. He claims that he would regularly have sex with Becki Falwell while Jerry Falwell watched.
“Becki and I developed an intimate relationship and Jerry enjoyed watching from the corner of the room,” he claimed.
Reuters published the piece after Granda reportedly gave them evidence that the affair took place, proving that they would meet up several times per year.
Naturally, Democrats are drooling over the story. Any chance to mock a Christian who doesn’t meet their own standards, or who sins, is a chance to claim moral superiority. The only difference is Democrats and far-left progressives do this kind of thing every day without an ounce of regret!
Falwell gave a statement to the Washington Examiner on Sunday night admitting that his wife had an affair with Granda, but that he has chosen to forgive his wife. He claimed that the story was made up as an attempt to blackmail his family.
Some 50 pastors who attended Liberty University asked that Falwell be permanently removed from his leadership role, staying that he has “embarrassed the many alumni that work hard in our community to not only uphold the reputation of the university but to uphold a positive witness for the name of Christ.”
