McConnell also tried to dismiss Trump’s efforts to have him removed as leader of the Senate Republicans.

David Drucker reported that McConnell also turned to a member of his staff during the interview and said, “aren’t we using Old Crow as my moniker now? It was Henry Clay’s favorite bourbon.”
McConnell was also asked whether he was worried about the former president’s insistence that he be removed from his position, and what might happen if Trump enters the White House again. But the Republican Senator for Kentucky was described by reports as “almost dumbfounded” by the question and asked Drucker if he had found a single Republican who wants him replaced.
He responded by saying that no Senate Republican has officially announced their support for removing him, prompting McConnell to state, “that’s the answer to your question.”
