National Association of Police ENDORSES Trump, Ditches Biden

( The National Association of Police Organizations caused controversy on Wednesday (at least…controversy among Democrats) by announcing their support for President Donald Trump. The news was surprising in the sense that they had already previously endorsed presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, but perhaps less surprising when viewed in the context of ongoing Black Lives Matter riots.

The president of the NAPO, Michael McHale, published a letter to the president explaining their support.

“Our endorsement recognizes your steadfast and very public support for our men and women on the front lines, especially during this time of unfair and inaccurate opprobrium being directed at our members by so many,” the statement said.

The full letter along with signatories was published on the NAPO Twitter account, and if you want to see just how out of touch far-left Democrat activists are…check out the responses. You’ll find everything from people claiming the police should be neutral, to activists claiming it makes no sense because Trump is a “proven” criminal.

The NAPO has historically been quite vocal when it comes to politics and endorsements of presidential candidates, and understandably so. This is an organization representing police officers all over the country, and at a time like this when the police as an institution is under attack by Democrats, it should come as no shock that they would support the candidate who strictly opposes the idea of defunding the policy.

In previous elections, NAPO endorsed Biden and Obama. In both 2008 and 2012. In 2016, the NAPO didn’t choose a candidate. It currently represents more than 241,000 sworn officers and around 1,000 police associations.

President Trump’s re-election campaign was thankful for the endorsement, publishing a written response.

“Joe Biden has done nothing to stop his party’s ‘defund the police’ movement and remains silent as police officers across the country are being attacked by violent rioters and protesters,” the statement reads. “This endorsement for President Trump highlights that as the Law and Order President, he is defending the hardworking people who risk their own lives every day to keep our communities safe.”

Let’s be honest…was there any chance that a police organization would endorse a Democratic candidate when Democrats are literally defunding police departments all over the country?
