Non-Partisan Pollster Says Voters HATED Kamala Harris’ “Condescending” Tone In Debate

( A non-partisan, independent pollster told Fox News immediately after the vice-presidential debate on Wednesday night that voters hated Kamala Harris’ “condescending” tone and believed that Vice President Mike Pence clearly won the debate.

Frank Luntz told Fox News anchor Bret Baier that Harris was considered abrasive by voters who watched the debate.

“The complaint about Kamala Harris was that she was abrasive and condescending,” he said. “The complaint about Mike Pence was that he was too tired, but he was vice presidential or presidential.”

Luntz explained how, if this is a battle over style and substance, then “this was Mike Pence’s night.”

He explained how undecided voters typically do not choose a candidate based on policy but also on persona. Harris, in this regard, failed to win over undecided voters who were watching the debate to help make up their mind.

Another issue raised by voters who watched the debate was how both candidates avoided many questions. The strict format of the debates, which didn’t allow much time for candidates to respond to attacks or arguments, meant that both candidates answered the questions they wanted to answer rather than spending time answering questions they didn’t want to answer.

Luntz also said that voters felt frustrated that Vice President Pence repeatedly spoke for longer than he was allowed, but that Harris’ reactions to Pence were even less popular. Viewers were left much “angrier” with Kamala Harris because of her smiling, scowling, and smirking.

While Pence won the debate, it doesn’t necessarily mean that his performance will have a huge impact o the election results. Presidential candidates remain the star of the show, and if polls are to be believed, President Trump is struggling. Luntz addressed this.

“I’ll be blunt with you. If there are no more presidential debates, then Joe Biden is the next president of the United States, and I have no hesitation in saying that,” Luntz said. “I know that there will be eruptions all over 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.”

The independent pollster said that President Trump needs the debates to “bring the answers that he has.”
