Queen Of England Strips Harvey Weinstein of 2004 Award

(TheLibertyRevolution.com)-Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has stripped disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein of an award he was given in 2004. Weinstein was presented with the highly respected Commander of the British Empire award for his contribution to the British movie industry, but a notice placed in the United Kingdom’s official public record, The Gazette, explains that the award has been removed owing to Weinstein’s rape conviction.

“The Queen has directed that the appointment of Harvey Weinstein to be an Honorary Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated January 19, 2004, shall be cancelled and annulled and that is name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order,” The Gazette revealed.

Upon receiving the award, which is highly coveted in the United Kingdom, Weinstein said that his life and career had been “greatly influenced and enriched by great British film-makers and authors and so I am especially honored and humbled to be receiving the CBE.”

The official process of removing Weinstein’s honors is known as “forfeiture,” and it’s not the first time it has happened. When somebody is honored by the Queen but their behavior brings the royal award into disrepute, the honor is removed via forfeiture.

Weinstein was convicted early in 2020 for rape, after weeks court proceedings went on for many weeks. Women came forward to tell stories of how Weinstein sexually abused, raped, and groped them, and even masturbated in front of them. It revealed just how bad the Hollywood “casting couch” is, that often requires women to perform sexual favors or put up with sexual assault and abuse from men who have power.

Over a hundred women came forward to accuse Weinstein of sexual misconduct, which was the driving force behind the #MeToo movement.

Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for his crimes, meaning he could be 91 years old by the time he leaves prison…if he ever does leave prison.
