(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- Kentucky Senator Rand Paul recently came out in support of a bar in Washington, D.C., that lost its liquor license after refusing to abide by vaccine mandates implemented in the district.
The Big Board bar was told in January by the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration that it would lose its liquor license for violating public health ordinances, which also included employee mask mandates. A notice was placed on the bar’s doors warning that they would be shut down until further notice for the violations.
The notice claimed that the bar presented an “imminent health hazard to the public.”

No it didn’t. Of course it didn’t. D.C. politicians and bureaucrats just wanted to exercise their power over a business that refused to comply with authoritarian demands from local government.
Senator Rand Paul responded by heading over The Big Board and ordering burgers and fries. He was joined by Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, Tennessee Rep Tim Burchett, and Indiana Rep. Victoria Spartz.
Senator Paul also tweeted a link to a crowdfunding page that allowed people to donate to the bar’s owners.
“Happy to support @thebigboarddc tonight with staff and friends!” he wrote. “DC just shut down this business over ridiculous mask and vaccine mandates.”

Paul spoke to Reason about the closing down of the bar, too, stating that he was “proud” of the owner for refusing to comply.
The owners also told Reason that if the city wants to shut his bar down, they’ll need to send out agents to make it happen.
“My servers are not lesser people…they don’t need to be masked. They don’t carry disease,” he said.

And now, with D.C. lifting the unnecessary mask mandates as Democrats realize they hurt their chances in the 2022 midterms, it remains to be seen whether the bar will be allowed to reopen.
Thank goodness for politicians like Rand Paul.
