(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- As the impeachment trial for former President Donald Trump is set to commence this week, the Republican National Committee has a plan in place to counter the arguments set to be put forth by the Democratic impeachment managers.
The Daily Caller reported the RNC has a very detailed plan to push back on the rhetoric likely to be spewed by Democrats against the former president during his trial. The RNC will utilize their team of media affairs personnel as well as members of the communication team to explain to voters on social media why they believe that trying a former president in an impeachment trial is not constitutional.
The rapid response team of the RNC will apparently focus on issuing fact checks while the impeachment trial is ongoing. It will look, it appears, like many fact checks that liberal news outlets conducted during some of the former president’s speeches and press conferences.
The RNC won’t stop there, though. They will also be aggressive in booking legal experts as well as Congress members to appear on TV shows. They will focus on battleground states that could be flipped from Democrat to Republican in the 2022 midterm elections.
The team of social media personnel at the RNC will work heavily on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to reach the largest audience possible.
As Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the RNC, told the Daily Caller regarding the impeachment trial:
“At a time when our nation needs unity above all else from its leadership, Democrats continue to sow division in our country. As Democrats choose to put politics over people, Republicans will continue to prioritize the issues that matter most like combatting COVID, opening our schools, distributing vaccines and fighting to get Americans back to work.”
The impeachment trial is in direct contrast to President Joe Biden’s two biggest messages that he has been preaching since taking office a few weeks ago.
The first message is unity — bringing the two parties together in Washington as well as the rest of the country. However, the first major action during the Biden administration is the impeachment trial, which is doing the exact opposite of bringing people together.
There are plenty of people on both sides of the political aisle who believe that the impeachment trial is unconstitutional to begin with. This has created plenty of new conversations about liberals trying to punish Trump for his four years in office, even as he is no longer in charge.
At the same time, the Democratic majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate are forging forward with a massive $1.9 trillion economic stimulus package they apparently will pass without Republican support — by using reconciliation. So, as Biden touts unity, he is having his party move forward with unilateral spending measures, despite pushback from Republicans.
Biden’s second message has been solving the pandemic and helping people in need economically. Trump’s impeachment trial is standing in the way of any progress toward doing that. Instead of focusing on creating bipartisan support for a stimulus package, all negotiations are put on hold while Democrats have forced an impeachment trial in the Senate that has no chance of convicting the former president.
