Russian TV Host Says They Might “Reinstate” Trump As President

( Olga Skabeyeva, a personality on Russian state television, said that if Donald Trump runs for president again in 2024, the Kremlin may help him win.

During this week’s broadcast of her talk program, noted Kremlin propagandist Skabeyeva claimed that Russia “will need to decide whether to reinstall him as the president of the United States. We haven’t made a decision yet.”

The host’s remarks highlight Russia’s continuous threat to US elections, particularly at a time of heightened tension between the two countries, according to Julia Davis, who tracks and analyzes Russian media.

According to US intelligence services, Russia meddled in the 2016 and 2020 elections to increase Trump’s prospects of winning. According to the US intelligence community, no votes in the United States were tampered with as a result of these operations.

The Russian government has consistently denied meddling in the US election.
Trump’s connection with Russia came under intense scrutiny during his administration because he frequently minimized the Kremlin’s participation in US elections.

Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation into Russian election meddling did not uncover proof that the Trump campaign planned or worked with Moscow to meddle in the 2016 election. However, it did conclude that the Trump campaign approved of Russian meddling.

According to Mueller’s final report, the Trump Campaign thought it would gain electorally from information stolen and distributed via Russian operations. The Russian government felt it would profit from a Trump presidency and attempted to accomplish that outcome.

Trump has frequently come under fire for routinely endorsing and standing up for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

During a meeting with Putin in Helsinki in 2018, Trump made headlines for appearing to side with the Russian president over the US intelligence community on the issue of Russia’s intervention in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump then apologized for his remarks, claiming he misspoke in the face of strong bipartisan opposition in Washington.

Trump has continued to praise Putin even after leaving office. In February, the former leader praised Putin’s rationale for striking Ukraine as “brilliant” and “clever.” The Ukraine conflict has worsened the tense relationship between Moscow and Washington, prompting the Biden administration to impose Russia with unprecedented sanctions.

Trump hasn’t publicly declared he’ll run in 2024, even though he still has unrivaled power over the Republican Party. However, he has made it clear that he plans to run for the Republican presidential nomination once more, even as other Republicans, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, prepare for prospective White House runs.

Trump and his cronies are still promoting unfounded allegations about the 2020 election and contesting the results by alleging widespread voter fraud.

Democrats accuse Trump of orchestrating a fatal uprising at the US Capitol in January 2021 to block Congress from certifying the results of the state’s electoral votes.

Consequently, the US House again impeached him, even though the US Senate found him not guilty.
