(TheLibertyRevolution.Com)- Remember a few weeks ago when Bernie Sanders went back home with his wife and his team announced they were reassessing his campaign? Well, just days ago, members of his team told the press that they were expecting to win the New York primary and were ramping up their campaign teams in various states in hope of a new wave of support.
But now they’re back to the “reassessing.”
During an interview on NPR earlier this week, Sanders admitted that he is still very much reassessing his campaign owing to the fact it is a “very steep road” to victory.
Speaking to Noel King on Morning Edition, Sanders explained how “it’s changing every day because elections are being delayed.”
“Where do we go from here with the elections that are being delayed, where we can’t go out and hold rallies or knock on doors? That’s what we’re looking at right now,” he added.
With Joe Biden stuck at home, doing media interviews and “Virtual Happy Hour” events from his makeshift office, now would be the perfect time for team Bernie to get back out there and start winning over Democratic voters. The only problem, of course, is that Sanders can’t really leave the house much either, and his team would be putting supporters at risk if they continued holding rallies and events.
Sanders was forced to reconsider the future of his campaign when he suffered some humiliating defeats throughout March. His campaign began canceling Facebook ads and talking to the Joe Biden team, but everything changed again when the coronavirus pandemic became very real.
The virus gave Sanders the perfect opportunity to go back to his main talking points on healthcare.
“I think there is growing sentiment in this country that people now understand that it is incomprehensible that we remain the only major country on earth not to guarantee health care to all, that we have an economy which leaves half of our people…living paycheck to paycheck.”
Sure, the madness of the coronavirus pandemic, combined with Biden’s inability to pull off a single media interview without making a mistake, could prove fertile ground for Sanders to climb back to the top.
But without the ability to campaign, it’s unlikely to happen.
