(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- The National Pulse reported last week that the conservative group that sponsors CPAC has taken money from the left-wing organization, The New Venture Fund.
The American Conservative Union, run by Matt and Mercedes Schlapp, received a grant of $183,250 from the New Venture Fund in 2020.
The New Venture Fund, a group that focuses on “Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion,” is known for supporting anti-conservative initiatives. Its president, Lee Bodner, used to work with the Soros-funded Arabella Advisors, a progressive dark money organization that funnels over a billion dollars to left-wing groups and political operations every year.
According to Breitbart, Schlapp came under fire last week for defending the male swimmer who competes against biological women under the name Lia Thomas. In a tweet last Monday, Schlapp had argued that Thomas’ story “deserved our compassion” and referred to biological male as “she.”
The National Pulse also reported that the American Conservative Union recently removed from its website a letter it sent to the NCAA criticizing its pro-transgender policy in college sports.
According to the National Pulse, the removal of this letter coincided with the ACU promoting Regina Batton. Batton, the National Pulse writes, has often promoted left-wing activists like Alyssa Milano, Joy Reid, and Democrat Amy Klobuchar. She is a typical NeverTrumper who frequently sides with Liz Cheney, the Lincoln Project, and Mitt Romney.
The National Pulse also notes that “multiple sources” said they believe that CPAC has become a “pay for play” event with the largest donors and sponsors receiving preferential treatment with regard to choosing CPAC speakers.
The National Pulse concludes its report noting that during an appearance on Fox News on January 6, 2021, Matt Schlapp suggested that Ashli Babbitt might have done something terrible and therefore deserved to get shot by police.
The American Conservative Union did not respond to either request for comment on the National Pulse’s story.
