Ted Cruz Has Big News For Military Exception For Religious People

(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- Republican Senator for Texas Ted Cruz is heading up a brand new campaign to help members of the United States military keep their jobs, even if they don’t want to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

Cruz is leading a group of eight Republican senators and some 38 Republican members of the House of Representatives in filing an amicus brief that supports 26 Navy SEALs and other members of the U.S. military in seeking religious exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccination mandate put in place by President Joe Biden.

The letter intervenes in the U.S. Navy Seals v. Biden case, and argues that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) as well as the First Amendment mean that the federal government must provide religious exemptions for all members of the United States military who hold sincere religious beliefs. It comes as many members of the U.S. military have been denied religious exemptions and are facing being discharged from the military for refusing to comply with the mandate.

Cruz, who is also a lawyer, tweeted on Monday that religious freedom is “fundamental to every American’s liberty.”

You’d think that would be obvious, but apparently not for President Biden.

Cruz said that he and his colleagues had filed the amicus brief and hope to successfully ensure that all members of the military can obtain exemptions when they want them.

He is joined by Senators Rick Scott of Florida, Mike Lee of Utah, James Lankford of Oklahoma, Steve Daines of Montana, Roger Wickes of Mississippi, Roger Marshall of Kansas, and Mike Braun of Indiana.
