(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- According to a report at CNBC, FEC filings show that seven of the Republican candidates endorsed by former President Donald Trump, combined, spent over $400,000 at Mar-a-Lago ahead of last Tuesday’s primaries.
Georgia’s Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker’s campaign has spent nearly $200,000 at Mar-a-Lago during the 2022 election cycle thus far.
Meanwhile, Trump’s pick in the Georgia gubernatorial primary, former Senator David Purdue, spent over $20,000 in campaign cash at a fundraising event at Mar-a-Lago in May. Purdue lost his challenge against incumbent Republican Senator Brian Kemp by nearly 50 points.
The campaign for Trump-endorsed candidate Jody Hice, who lost his challenge against Georgia’s incumbent Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, spent over $38,000 at a fundraising event at Mar-a-Lago back in February.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who survived last week’s run-off election against George P. Bush, spent over $45,000 in campaign funds at Mar-a-Lago between November and December.
Other candidates who held fundraisers at Mar-a-Lago included Sarah Huckabee Sanders who is running for governor in Arkansas, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who defeated her challenger in last week’s Georgia primary, and Georgia congressional candidate Vernon Jones, who now faces a runoff election against Republican challenger Mike Collins.
The money spent by the campaigns paid for renting Trump’s exclusive club for fundraising events.
Is it any wonder that these candidates endorsed by Trump would want to rent Mar-a-Lago for fundraisers? As Trump’s spokesman Taylor Budowich explained to CNBC, the best place to raise campaign money is at Trump properties.
Budowich told CNBC in a text that Mar-a-Lago and Trump’s club in Bedminster, New Jersey are “where candidates, organizations, and donors want to be.”
In short, every candidate’s campaign, whether Democrat or Republican, has to pay to rent the venues used for holding fundraisers.
For Republican candidates, Trump is fundraising gold. Why wouldn’t his endorsed candidates pay to hold a fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago?
