(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- Joe Exotic, the star of the Netflix documentary “Tiger King,” has announced that he has been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer.
Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, took the world by storm for his illegal and eccentric behavior centered around his now-closed-down tiger park.
Attorney John M. Phillips revealed to the press that he spoke with Exotic on Monday about the matter, and then said that the cancer diagnosis is reason to free him from prison, where he is serving a 22-year prison sentence for attempting to hire somebody to murder his long-time rival, Big Cat Rescue owner Carole Baskin.
“He needs freedom by so many definitions and we are diligent working towards that,” he said.
In the announcement, which was shared on Instagram, Exotic said that the biopsy came back with “an aggressive cancer.” He also used the opportunity to once again profess his innocence, claiming that he is sure that Carole Baskin “will have her own party” about his cancer prognosis.

He added that there is proof that he did not commit the crime and there is no reason for the matter to be dragged out. Instead, he said he should be allowed to go home and get treatment and enjoy whatever he has left of his life.
“Say a prayer. Be my voice please,” he added.
A follow-up to the Tiger King documentary series is expected in the coming months, with the first trailer for the second season having recently been shared online.
