Trump Says Elon Musk Won’t Go Through With Twitter Purchase

( Trump remarked on Saturday that Elon Musk would not acquire Twitter at “such a ludicrous price” due to the number of bogus accounts and bots on the social media network.

Trump made the statements on his own social media network, Truth Social after tech magnate Musk said his proposal to acquire Twitter was “temporarily on hold” until specific research shows that bots or phony accounts make up less than 5% of users.

Trump said that there is no chance Elon Musk will acquire Twitter at that price, mainly because it is primarily reliant on BOTS or Spam Accounts.

“Fake anyone?” Trump quipped.

Trump asked that by the time you get rid of all the bots (if that can even be done), what do you have?

Not much, he answered.

He said If it weren’t for the ridiculous Billion Dollar breakup fee, Elon would have already been long gone.

The former president said his site is “far better than Twitter” and has “great engagement!”

Musk posted a Reuters story from early May claiming that Twitter estimates fraudulent or spam accounts comprised less than 5% of its monetizable daily active users in the first quarter. Twitter acknowledged in a filing on April 28 that it had “many fraudulent or spam accounts.”

Musk wants “many” to be defined.

Twitter released a statement saying that they have undertaken an internal evaluation of a sample of accounts and estimate that fake or spam accounts during the first quarter of 2022 comprised less than 5 percent of their users.

Musk countered with the Tweet – “Twitter transaction on hold pending details supporting calculation that spam/fake accounts comprise fewer than 5% of users.”

Twitter shares plummeted after the news.

Musk then posted again shortly after, stating that he is “still committed” to the acquisition. His team will “randomly select 100 Twitter followers” to determine the percentage of bogus accounts.

Musk welcomed others to go through the same procedure.

Musk will take Twitter private for $54.20 per share, valuing the company at $44 billion. If he buys Twitter, the businessman plans to verify all actual users.

Musk proclaimed that if his Twitter bid succeeds, we will fight the spambots or die trying. He promised to authenticate all genuine persons.

Musk said he will reinstate Trump’s Twitter account if his agreement is successful, calling Twitter’s ban “morally terrible.”

Trump was banned from Twitter in January 2021 for breaching the company’s “Glorification of Violence” policy.

Musk said that banning Trump was wrong.

“I think that was a mistake because it alienated a significant segment of the country,” Musk said.

Trump doesn’t plan to use Twitter for now.
