Trump’s Lawsuit Reportedly Expected To Fail

( Former President Donald Trump has filed another lawsuit, and many advisors close to him believe it’s going to fail.

The New York Times recently published an article that called the latest suit Trump filed as “a tirade” that was filed against “one of his chief antagonists.”

The suit in question was one that Trump filed against Letitia James, the attorney general of New York, who filed a lawsuit of her own against the Trump Organization recently.

According to the Times’ report, the lawsuit was “hotly opposed by several of [Trump’s] longstanding legal advisers, who attempted an intervention hours before it was submitted to a court.”

Apparently, that intervention didn’t accomplish what the advisers were hoping for, and the lawsuit was ultimately filed. Sources that The Times cited said they were against the suit because they thought it was “frivolous and would fail.”

One person close to Trump, the general counsel of the former president’s real estate business, said the suit could actually amount to “committing malpractice.”

Trump’s lawsuit is claiming that James has trespassed against the former president’s privacy in Florida, the state he now calls home. As such, Trump is saying that James’ suit against the Trump Organization and him should be tossed.

After he filed the suit, Trump posted on Truth Social, his own social media network, about the case. He said:

“While James does nothing to protect New York against these violent crimes and criminals, she attacks great and upstanding businesses.”

The lawsuit that James filed back in September was the culmination of an investigation she has been conducting into the Trump Organization over the last three years. She has accused Trump of “staggering” fraud for overvaluing his assets by as much as billions of dollars.

The ultimate aim of James’ lawsuit is to prevent the former president as well as his three eldest children — Ivanka, Eric and Don Jr. — from running a business in the future in New York State, while also shutting down some of the properties that the Trump Organization owns in New York.

Trump has attempted to stop James’ lawsuit in the past, with his complaint already dismissed for that case. He’s now trying to revive the efforts to stop the lawsuit by filing it in Florida with a new law firm.

The Times’ report says that much of the 41 pages of the lawsuit reads as if the former president had a strong influence over the wording. One of the passages, for example, reads:

“As a private company, nobody knew very much about the great business that then-businessman Donald Trump had built, but now it is being revealed by James and much to her chagrin … the continuing witch hunt that has haunted and targeted Donald Trump since he came down the ‘golden escalator’ at Trump Tower in June of 2015 continues.”

Trump’s own inner circle of advisers couldn’t get him to not file this lawsuit, and now it will head to a court to decide what the next steps are.
