(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- American troops came under fire in Eastern Syria over the weekend, according to a report by Reuters. The outlet revealed how U.S. troops were indirectly fired at and thankfully there were no injuries or casualties.
Speaking to a United States defense official, Reuters revealed that the incident took place in Conoco. So far, nobody has claimed the attack, but American Intelligence reportedly believes that it was carried out by militias supported by Iran.
It wouldn’t be the first time that Iran-backed militias attacked U.S troops…and it won’t be the last.
It follows a number of attacks against American troops in Iraq and Syria in recent weeks, as tensions between the United States and Iran increase. Iran, which is the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, is understood to be just weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon and talks about returning to the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (or the “Iran Nuclear Deal”) have stalled pending President Joe Biden lifting all economic sanctions on the country.
It’s one giant game of chicken.
Last Thursday, rockets were fired at the American Embassy in Baghdad, which caused fairly substantial damage. The day before, more than 10 rockets hit a base containing American troops in Iraq. Members of the U.S. military suffered injuries as a result.
In a statement, the Pentagon insisted that President Joe Biden will “act to protect U.S. personnel,” but what has he done?
We haven’t heard anything about the Iran Nuclear Deal or a return to talks for Iran to return to compliance, nor have we heard anything about a plan to stop Iran from attacking American troops overseas.
Where is the president on this?
Reuters reports that Iran has denied supporting the recent attacks on American troops, but then again, they would say that.
